Isapre Cruz Blanca has formed part of Chile’s health sector since the launch of the country’s private health system in 1981.
It has an important presence throughout the country, with a total of 78 branch offices.
As of December 2012, Isapre Cruz Blanca had 329,834 policy holders (614,063 beneficiaries), equivalent to a 21% share of policy holders at private health insurance companies (Isapres) open to the general public. This positions Cruz Blanca as Chile’s third largest Isapre in terms of number of policy holders. However, a high average premium makes it the largest in terms of total premium payments (representing 22% of the industry’s revenues in December 2012).
